Last year, the Tamarind Institute reached out to Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Raven Chacon, to create a lithograph print of his illustrations of an immersive art concept. It will blossom into a full day performance across the city of Albuquerque this Saturday. It’s called Tiguex.

The no-strings, five-year fellowship is intended to encourage exceptional people to pursue their own creative or intellectual inclinations.

Longtime Albuquerque-based composer Raven Chacon, who is Navajo, won a Pulitzer Prize for music, the first Indigenous person to win that award. He speaks with Shaun Griswold from Source New Mexico.
