While inflation is finally coming down, many are still hurting in New Mexico. U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich and his Republican challenger in this year鈥檚 election, Nella Domenici, have differing proposals to provide some relief.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham praised President Biden鈥檚 pledge this week to codify abortion protections in federal law if the Democrats secure a majority in congress. She characterized the move as a commitment to 鈥渆cho鈥� the work being done here in New Mexico, and tells 九色网 she "absolutely" would pursue codifying the right to an abortion in state law if reelected.

It turns out, New Mexico鈥檚 story of a dearth of affordable housing and rents that just keep going up are mirrored around the country, but there is an exception 鈥� Albuquerque rents have risen more than many other cities. That鈥檚 according to the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies, which recently released its annual State of the Nation鈥檚 Housing report for 2022.

In agriculture, especially growing fruit and vegetables, margins have long been tight, with labor costs and drought causing headaches. But now supply chain issues and the war in Eastern Europe have driven fuel and fertilizer prices way up. And farmers are having to make tough choices.
